Mark your calendars! The FASI 37th Annual Conference and Trade Show is
July 23, 2006, to July 26, 2006, at The Ritz Carlton, Naples, Florida.
FASI’s annual golf outing is Sunday at Tiburon Golf Club
(see golf article for details). The Welcome Reception for attendees and
guests will be in The Club Room on Sunday. Meet the FASI Officers and the
Board of Directors, while they enjoy the opportunity to socialize in
anticipation of an excellent educational program.
The FASI
Business Meeting kicks off Monday with the 2005-2006 Board of Directors in
attendance and recognized for their contributions for the past year. The
new slate for the 2006-2007 Board of Directors will be read at this
meeting. Immediately following the FASI Business Meeting are the general
sessions with topics such as: Pending Rules, EDI, and Penalties with Greg
Jenkins with the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation; Legislative
Update with Dennis Ross (R), Florida House of Representatives, Ross,
Vecchio & Trussell, P.A.; and a panel to discuss “Spend Money to Save
Money” with Kevin Cooper, NCH Healthcare System, Inc., Brian Wolff, MD,
Collier Neurologic Specialists, LLC, and Randal Thomas, Esq. Registrants
will receive a playing card at each session and the attendee with the best
poker hand will win $500 cash! Monday evening concludes with the
Exhibitor's Showcase, Reception and Prize Drawings.
Tuesday’s general sessions address topics for all attendees,
regardless of what sector in the self insured market you are in. Jeffrey
Fieldson with Marsh USA, Inc. will discuss “Hurricanes & Natural
Disasters”; Karla Nickell, Mahoney & Associates, Mike Swanson,
Wachovia Insurance, and Greg DeLoach, Wachovia Insurance will share their
knowledge on “Beyond Self Insurance”; and finally a cast of many will
entertain and educate you with their rendition of “As the Claim Turns”.
Tuesday evening is the 37th Annual “FASI Las Vegas” Dinner & Casino
Party with entertainment by The Don Juceam Orchestra (best known for Don
Juceam’s impersonation of Frank Sinatra). There will be games and prizes
for the children. Lots of food, music, gambling, and prizes will fill the
evening, so plan to attend!

Annual Golf Outing 2006

The FASI
Annual Golf Outing will be held on July 23, 2006, 8:00 a.m. at a Greg
Norman Course, and home of the Franklin Templeton Golf Shootout, Tiburon
Golf Club in Naples Florida. The format will be a scramble. Check in
starting at 7:30 a.m. with golf starting at 8:00 a.m. Lunch and prizes
will be served at Tiburon in the Sydney Room at the end of play.
Sponsorships are available. Beverage, lunch, photos, tee
signs, specialty holes, goody bags & door prizes will be greatly
appreciated. Golf tee sponsorship signs will be displayed at tee boxes,
recognition and acknowledgment flyers placed on each golf cart; and
sponsorship signs displayed throughout the conference. Each registered
sponsor will be given a ribbon recognizing their continued support and
dedication to FASI.
A 50/50 raffle was established last year
in Honor of Fran Brown. Last year we raised $180 and a donation was made
to the American Heart Association in her Memory. I hope it will continue
to grow.
We will continue with the envelopes at the golf
outing. With a $20.00 donation you receive an envelope that contains a
ticket to participate in the Putting Contest, play the “Golf Poker Hand”
around the course and two “Mikeigans” (mulligan).

FASI. Without that dedication and support this event would not be
possible.
